I wonder if there is already a thread for some of us to share auction results. We can't all attend every auction, and sometimes it can take a while before we find out the sold price, etc. Even then, not much more info than just the price is reported. I think it would be really cool to know further details like opening bid, second-highest bid etc.

I'll start, as I attended this today:

    https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-west+end-136090654

Opened with a vendor bid by the auctioneer at $2,000,000 and he was calling for people to bump that up by $50k's. Two bidders got it up to $2,200,000 or thereabouts and from there it was going up in $10k's until it got to $2,300,000. Second-highest bidder then offered $2,305,000, but then lost it to the winner who paid $2,310,000.

I'd be absolutely fascinated to read equivalent mini-stories from recent auctions you have all attended.

Nice house and that is a great spot in West End. Really quite and easy access into the city. Tiny block though!

Very common block size for West End, but most blocks that size just have a tiny 3-br house that's 100 years old. - and even those are going for $1.2m+ lately.

Yeah Sackie it's about 30-40 metres in from Bapaume Rd. I think its just far away enough from the M3 (pacific motorway) for it not to be affected by noise.

Interesting how differently we see things. I see a charming house, needs some TLC. That will renovate up beautifully.

To be fair, you may have only seen the touched up photos; I physically set foot in it and to be quite honest, if I didn't see people living in it, I would have labelled it uninhabitable, just from the mold alone.

You're right though, everyone goes into a project with different eyes.

Yes coopers plains and Southside is also doing well.
I own an 809 in coopers already on 2 lots which sold for $530k in 2016. So yes been very good growth in these pockets. Almost 70-80%

Kitchen looks familiar! This Jane St house looks like one I used to visit back in the early 70s - daughter was a friend from school. It would have to be heritage listed: I suppose council would allow it to be removed though, considering all the other new builds nearby. Sorry, i am not familiar with BCC rules and development hubs.

jane st is highly sought after - very close to the restaurant strip on boundary street. It is north facing and drenched in sunlight. It had a 14m frontage which is very rare. House was demo protected and will likely be a $1m + refurb.

It Was a Chinese buyer and their effect has been profound on prices. Enrolling 2 children in BSHS will prob save $300k in schooling costs vs a private school. To be honest I’m surprised West End didn’t move earlier . It isn’t as pretty as New Farm but it’s far more convenient & interesting in my opinion

The suburb has been very tightly held - a lot of the post WW2 Greek migrants are starting to Pass away and their children don’t want the hassle of old rundown properties netting 1% and in need of maintainence so we should start to see more listings.
