What are some interesting books you read recently that you recommend or you see values that will re-read them. And any books in your to-read list? A couple interesting ones for me recently: 1. Atomic Habits by James Clear 2. The psychology of money by Morgan Housel My to-read includes a couple, not sure if something more interesting pops up before I read them: 1. Principles by Ray Dalio 2. Never split the difference by Chris Voss Please share any interesting books and I can add to my list. Thanks.
Investopoly Stuart Wymess Die with Zero Bill Perkins Agree with - Never Split the Difference Chris Voss Great book.
Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman One of the most insightful books I've read on time management / life generally
Although it is commonly thrown out there I was a big fan of Robert Kiyosaki's books Rich Dad Poor Dad and the Cashflow Quadrant. Also enjoyed Napoleon Hill's: Think and Grow Rich. Each of these has been integral in shifting my mindset throughout my own investment journey. Would also highly recommend Ray Dalio's book that you have on your to-read list, love his insight, and has many educational videos on his youtube channel.
Agree with this. I’ve only read a handful of books but the 2 Rich Dad books and The Richest Man in Babylon did it for me. Cash flow Quadrant was a blueprint to success, we went through all 4 stages in sequence and all went very well. The other main influence was more philosophy based and that was Jim Rohn’s audio recordings, listened to over and over again. So many great quotes came from this man. “Don’t wish things were easier, wish you were better”.
Rich dad poor dad is great. Though by the time I got around to them, it seemed to familiar after reading quite a few other books prior. Every year I re-read / listen to on you-tube: - Richest man in Babylon, George Clason - Millionaire Next Door, Thomas Stanley - Slight Edge, Jeff Olson (Atomic Habits had a similar message) Almost monthly, I listen to: - Be My Guest, Conrad Hilton (I'm in the accomodation game, so this speaks volumes to me) - Arnold Schwarzenegger And most recently for some wild motivation: - Undercover Billionaire, Glenn Stearns Challenge to create a $1M business in 90 days. Dropped off in a small town with $100 and a truck. A few people did this challenge, but he came across the most authentic and unprepared.
+1! is still my biggest mentor, was such a wise man. His philosophy on how to live a great life. Recommend all his books or audios but highly recommend this one, "Five Major Pieces of Life Puzzle" by Jim Rohn.
I am also amazed how George Clason wrote that book - the richest man in Babylon 100 years ago. It is so ahead of time when personal finance field did not really exist then. I like that book too and hope my kids learn that earlier than I did. And so many personal finance books nowadays perhaps have exactly the same principles, just updated with some current market and regulations but the idea and principles are as simple as that book written 100 years ago.
A few that will be less well known. White Tiger - Aravind Adiga & How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia - Mohsin Hamid * Similar theme to both books, how lucky we are in Australia on a global scale. White Tiger was a Man Booker prize winner so may be better known of the two. The Trick to Money is Having Some - Stuart Wilde * May not be to everybody's taste and Wilde has some ideas which are going too far I personally think, otherwise mainly a wealth mindset book over specific tactics.
Highly recommend. Summary: The power of habit is a digestible and informed examination of why habits exist, how they work, and how you can change them. This book will give you the foundational understanding required to create new habits that will drive your success and break old habits that are limiting your life.
