Recently my knee was making clicking sounds as i walk .
    Must continually clicked.
I had HCF insurance so went to see a Surgeon.
    Anthroscopy he said.

He could do it next week so arranged it.
    Money first he said !!
Had to pay the bloodsucker $2800 first , they kept ringing me despite me offering $2500 .
Gap $2800, pay first ! Pay first ! Shouted the bloodsucker !

Now the BS wants me to pay his friend the Porsche driving pony tailed Surgeon assistant $- 382 pay later

I went back a week later and has a argument in the room with the surgeon who slammed the door in my face after i called him a bloodsucker .
As for his assistant porsche driving pony tailed friend surgeon , how do i even know he was there ?????
No pay for him ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get my friend to call his office " you have witnesses you were there !!! He asks .

This HCF told me oh you should of used our no gap doctors !!!
$196 health care insurance monthly for what ?

Another GP friend told me i didnt probaly need a Anthroscopy !
But granted it did fix my knee .

    Lol.
    Stop your whining @darlinghurstsboy.
Do your due diligence like you would with a property. If you don't like the price go somewhere else. Insulting your surgeon is not the best idea - you're lucky you still have kneecaps.
The private health insurance mainly pays for the hospital and operating theatre fees. Medicare pays for some of the surgeon fees and health insurance pays for some more. Whatever is above the recommended amount you pay for.
Either you choose someone that HCF have a no gap agreement with or you consent to upgrading the gold taps in their house.
If you don't pay for the anaesthatist or the assistant surgeon they will send the bill to the debt collectors and they will come after you. Once you get that black mark on your credit history have fun ever buying an IP.
You would have signed a contract saying you would pay for the assistant so suck it up princess.
BTW Surgeons are expensive. Their years of learning, their sky high insurance fees and their overheads of having a receptionists/rooms etc all has to be paid for. You voluntarily become their patient, no one forced you.

If your knee clicks with no pain don't worry about it.

Everyone knows private health is a scam like all forms of insurance, extended warreties, fixing interest rates and Binvested. The house always wins!

I sometimes feel that PC is becoming like facebook or twitter for someone to mention/comment on every single issue that they have in life. Personally, I think we live in one of the best country in the world and life is what you make of it.

Should have got Moshe to do the surgery.

Alternatively @Bran would have given you a discount.

So a GP knows better than a specialist?
Also, do you work for free?
He has to deal with clients like you, no wonder he charges "pay first"...

If I read the original post I believe he is upset that there was an additional cost (being the bs assistant) that he may not have been advised of,

If that is correct, then I have some sympathies for @Darlinghurst Boy as that is wrong.

All known costs should be documented upfront and barring and incidents during the surgery, you should pay what is quoted. An assistant is a known cost and he should have been advised,
