Various related entities... he seems to have a few. Personal shareholding remains the same.

If only Rob read this forum then he probably wouldn't have bought just now ...:D

    I see. Ta.

Not related to this company but in the past at least some have used the method and kept the holdings of each just below the 5% substantial shareholder threshold but when combined....

I don't see any particular issue with it. They don't actually own the company technically so why not if it's at fair market price.

You could see it as positive overall that they’re tipping their own money in, yes. Its certainly better than if they sell shares :)

    Nice!

Who'd have thunk I'd find guitar players on an investment forum? If you don't think you can do it justice or won't get to seven lives, I'll take it off your hands... it will live a happy life with friends.:D

I know BKI has copped some criticism, but in the past year, it has returned me 15.5% (
    Growtn 10.38% & Dividend 5.14%)
I know there are some special dividends in there...
Just throwing it out there :)

I only started my LIC journey in relatively recent times - ie. 12 months - and that 10% profit I'm sitting on with BKI is looking mighty tempting. While I understand the forces driving the increases in LICs and the index generally, I'm not convinced it's not going to continue a little while longer.

But eventually the market will come back to reality, and LICs with it. Yield just isn't there for more purchases just now, IMO.

From a trading perspective? Have had that temptation, and succumbed to it, in the past. I don't track the stuff now as it was one way to avoid the impulsive aspect of my nature.

On the yield aspect, it's getting tighter. Not all that surprising really as cash at bank is probably negative if CPI is taken into account so some are looking elsewhere for the income. The Managing Director of AFI made reference that matter. He'd have a heck of a lot more knowledge than me as to what's happening. I wonder what is the rate of new shareholders? I'm pretty sure they'd know it.

Apart from disposing entirely of one holding a couple of weeks ago and redeploying those funds elsewhere, I am not even looking to buy yet. Usual indecision (although not making a decision is a decision) and angst on my part. Should ignore myself and do it.

Depends what your time horizon is, but generally with these old fashioned LIC's its long term, just keeping adding and let compounding do its magic.

Same position, just holding off a smidgen seeing if there is bit of a pull back.

My issue is if I sell out of BKI where do I place the fund to.

I don't see the point in selling as while now in profit was in a 'loss' situation awhile ago and so it goes, meanwhile the dividends just keep rolling in.

Just a temptation - the whole point of doing this was not to trade - I'm in for the long haul on most things... (damn you Telstra!) but sitting on $5-ish profit on 30,000 BKI in less than a year - and I'm almost certain they will fall back to earth later this year, is tempting. Could use it to solve some of the Telstra problem. But I won't. Just temporarily excited by having so many green stocks in the portfolio. And they're all LICs.:D

There's buying when it's sensible and there's timing the market, and I've proven over and over to myself I can't do the latter, so I'll try to stick to the former.
