I went to the gym this evening for the first time in 2-3 weeks and my goodness I swear it was the toughest session I've ever had mentally and physically.

I think I've convinced myself that because I haven't been to the gym in so long I've lost all my fitness. Usually I can run on the treadmill at 10kmh or outside for at least 7k's without any discomfort but 4 minutes in on the treadmill today and I was ready to give up. Persevered to 10 mins which is my usual treadmill warmup anyway but felt like I was going to vomit by the end of it.

I didn't let myself off the hook with the weights either and just went back to my usual weight amounts I use. Though I do have a dodgy back (2 ruptured and 1 bulging disc) which has been playing up lately as well as a dodgy shoulder (tendonitis and bursitis that just won't go away) which did make the session physically tough as there was just some stuff I couldn't do without a great deal of pain. Need to google exercises to do to compensate for the ones I can't. Something wrong with my elbow too that I should really see a doc about but that will just be another part of me falling apart!

Going to aim to either go for a run tomorrow or a couple of sessions up and down our local hill.

Hi Pinkboy, thanks for bringing me into the fold :)

I'm 169 cm tall and weigh 62kgs in the nick (last weight I gave of 64kgs was when I was clothed, sorry, not sure about tracking weight so will give weight in the nick from now on)

I want to get below 60 kgs, rediscover my waist and convert fat to muscle, so it will be a slow process. I am carrying fat around the middle and back fat folds... it has to go!

@Bran very clear difference! Good job!

I'm extremely late to the party, and haven't weighed myself this week.. So no idea?

I'm bloody tired though, I've just this week increased my cardio to 3 days a week - so have been up every day at 5:30am (except Tuesday) so far. In a couple of weeks I'm swapping my gym routine to do 5 days a week, which means I'm up at 5:30am Monday to Friday. I am not a morning person at all. So this is not such a fun groove to get into at the start.

I've also not had the best week with my food, left it at home a few times in my mad rush out the door. It's been a hectic week. Blah.

pity weigh in isn't today. I've had a sudden noticeable visual drop in fat, and sure enough 2kg less on the scales than last week. I am feeling a bit flu-ey though so going to give todays work out a miss

Good one. Sounds like more fun than the gym!
I did a 2 hr stretch today. Came home and cooked up some chocolate brownie but yuk! could only eat one serving ... too much sugar, too rich. What's going on?

Setting off on my walking adventure in the Indian Himalaya.

88.5kg today. Hope to lose 2kg whilst away.
    • 12 days above 3500m which will lift heart rate and metabolism
    • No alcohol consumption at altitude
    • 7 days of trekking/camping will mean I'll be fairly active. Lots of walking the other days.
    • Healthy eating. Mostly Daal Bhat and rice I expect.

Won't have access to scales so my next weigh-in will be 9 August.
