I think this was what he was getting at ... I am married to an engineer, the son of a builder, and I would swear he is always looking for the most complicated way to "do" something. Basically he overthinks things because of his problem solving training. Me? I just want to get the job done and simply get "stuck in". Usually I'm near finished by the time he's worked out how it "should" be done (complete with plans).
Hehe, that's the ticket. I'm pretty lazy, but I'm similar, get stuff done while the old man's still talking about how we should do it.
