    Hi All,

What apps do you suggest for helping people to learn basic day to day life budgeting ?

Do you have materials or resources you think are good for people with no finance smarts at all ?

    Cheers

For budgeting to work, one have to be religious about it.
Apps will only help if you enter every bit of information in it and then it can do calculations for you.
Most of the time people give up entering data after a week and then wonder why the app doesn't work. o_O

I've used excel spreadsheet templates in the past. I once did use an app but can't remember the name.

Not an "app" as such - but the first part of learning to control your finances is learning to track your spending so you can see exactly where your money goes.

Reckon Accounts Personal (aka Quicken) is still the best application out there for tracking this stuff.

    Amar, Simon.....

Yes, that is part of the problem, finding a way to help people like this in an easy fashion, would not bother with quicken or similar simple data entry at this stage, that is for once someone has an interest and some knowledge.

What are parents giving children or young adults to learn......

Perhaps Monopoly game or something similar where "money" is involved as a key input.
