I wonder what you are posting for your ads to be filled with irrelevant comments.

its usually the same, a bit of how dare you offer that much, a bit of you wont find someone who can do that here, you need a qualified person to be able to legally hammer in a nail, to oh the offer by XXXX is no good because bla bla bla, to the bushfires are Scott Morrisions fault

I usually just delete and repaste the exact same ad and get genuine interest as the previous seem to lose their huff

I used airtasker the other day. The guy was super nice and done a great job - we had a few things in common and our families ended up hanging out for dinner.

    Cheers

I too had a super successful transaction today, (however, didnt do dinner, cos he was 1000kms away!)

got silly quotes from my agent to do a quick sweep/mop inside a 3bdr home, it was cleaned about 6 months ago but obviously since no one has lived in it, dust has accumulated,

2 quotes from the agent were $375 and $550, which were taking the ****
put an ad up for $200, got charged $15 or $20 Airtasker fee,

guy did it in 2 hours, even sprayed my windows with the hose for an extra hour

both parties happy as a pig in poo

    just for FYI

ive put up a job for a pretty basic task today, its to replace 2 x tap heads

    first offer I got was

"I charge 22% on top of my usual rate, minimum is 2 hours, do not accept any quotes that are cheap because you need be a licensed plumber for this job"

and you can undestand with a toxic environment like this, people shy away

These sites are ruining the trades industry like Labour hire companies are and it's letting a handyman into people's houses to have a crack at licensed trades like plumbing and electrical.

It also allows the seeker to waste people's time and go with the cheapest quote
