He's got a 49% approval rating in Victoria. 70% of Victorians support the harsh measures.

Andrews wont get back in office, business owners asking for his head on a platter, that means resign and rightly so

He deserves to lose his job

You should know by now that polls are meaningless.

Wait for job loss stats in next quarter and how many business’ in Melb that have been sacrificed, never coming back. See how this works

Andrews not the only politician that should be worried. At least he hasn't lost China as a trading partner. I expect this to get deleted as it is criticising the uncriticizable.

I feel for our beef barley and wine producers and fear there is more to come because someone has completely botched this international space

I am pretty sure PM has cut him at knees with regards to China

As far as Premiers go, Labor Premiers in the main have shown they are power hungry and this takes priority

They did and in turn PM does not want Premiers to go rogue, what we have recently seen

Not saying its right or wrong, but the playing field is changing in Oz and whether and how we do business with China will no longer I believe be controlled by States. Good and bad???

    Thank you for the condescension.

Polls have a margin for error. Mostly they are within a few percent. Where they have got the final result wrong, the percentages have been fairly close. Not enough that the 70% if Victorians polled as supporting the measures would be much less than say 65%. And support for Andrews would be in the range 44%-54%. This is allowing for a huge margin for error of 5%, much bigger than any recent poll.

What you really mean is that polls which don't support your point of view are meaningless, and you would rather believe what a few friends and family are telling you.

No I rather believe the performance, facts and the results
There are various leaders calling for his resignation seems you want to ignore the blunders so you can align this with your view

if you want to believe in polls go for it. They made this mistake in US in 2016 and the rest is history

Doesn't really matter as they are closing the doors and our PM seems to care more about his ego than our country.
China is our biggest trading partner and would have supported future economic growth, job creations and higher living standards.

What is he doing?? other than being Trumps election puppet

I've allowed for an error of five percentage points. The difference between polls and the final result in the US election was far less than that. Hillary did actually win the popular vote by a few million votes - many polls showed close to this overall result. They missed out in the swing states, where only 1% made the difference.

I get this, we will be in a world of pain unless we can pull something out of the bag.
These ongoing lockdowns and labor premiers will be the nail in the coffin

You've repeatedly stated that the Victorian government is extremely unpopular. You don't like the lockdowns and you would like everything opened up.

I've quoted a poll where overwhelmingly, people support the measures in a bid to get rid of coronavirus. 70% + approval. No recent poll in the US or Australia has been out by 20%. Not even by 5% to my knowledge. The polls in the Australian election were out by 3%.

They have a margin of error. But not enough to demonstrate that Victorians don't support the restrictions. Andrews has close to 50 50 - if an election were to be held tomorrow, he may lose. Or may not.

Most people understand that there is an epidemic. They can see that if things are opened too quickly, or if a tight hold isn't kept on quarantines and similar measure, things may blow up again. It's a damn nuisance for everybody. But most accept that in the present circumstances, tight controls are needed. We don't want to end up like Europe or the US.

As to getting rid of state borders, this would first require the states to disappear. That is definitely not going to happen as the States are sovereign entities and the Commonwealth has no ability to do anything about it. If anything it is the Commonwealth that could be disbanded by each State choosing to secede. Then we may need a passport and visa to cross a border. Tariffs etc on goods entering form interstate . A return to 1890s.

Victorians overwhelmingly support the the stage 4 lockdown and this shows in the polls.

Anecdotally( no polls taken yet) most don't support extending the state of emergency for a further 12 months.

Andrews support in polls is in the 40's, however back in June that figure was in the 70's, polls only give us a point in time, trends give a direction over time.

Dropping around 25/30% in a couple months is a huge change.

What some people dont understand is we cant eliminate the virus without a vaccine, its groundhog day, it simply comes back. Lockdown including borders is killing our economy and society not the virus .....

How many lockdowns do we need before we get this
