Cash & Bonds Anyone investing in Bonds at the moment?

Bonds are an asset class I don't fully understand and thus seek opinions from anyone in the know.

Theres an interesting video link below where the POM being interviewed mentions buying bonds is a good idea.

Towards the end of the interview he gives his reasons why there could be another global recession.



At 44min 25sec he says that everyone should own bonds and that they will go to zero. He strongly asserts that one should buy / trade bonds now -although he doesn't give his reasons for this.

1. Are you able to explain why he would suggest that this is a good investment opportunity?
2. How does one buy Bonds in Aust'?

Holy Moly. I google Bonds and now I'm inundated with ads of scantly clad models wearing Bonds undergarments. Hey! get out of my head.

 

I didn't but ended up with scantily clad models based on @datto's preferences and previous searches.

 

Whao! Remember one thing, they're all of legal age.

ASX has developed a bond calculator to help you easily calculate an AGB’s yield to maturity from the traded price. Comparing the yield to maturity of different AGBs will assist in determining which AGB is the more attractive investment for your requirements.

Anyone still investing in bonds? I am but still wondering what’s the point.
