Their premium economy seems to be good value

We flew with them to the US (in economy class) a few years ago and were pretty happy with it.

If you fly economy with them they do not serve food or give you a movie unless you pay extra for it

The seat and flights are ok. Better than a lot

    Yes the Premium Economy
I do about international sector a week on Airnz
    Short sectors economy .
Long sectors premuim economy (day )
    Business (night)

The great thing with Airnz is you can upgrade on the cheapest fare
These upgrade can be cofirmed on booking
    $220 to PE
$480 to business (from PE )
Or free as part of your status
    (As a Elite)
Virgin even as platinum . ..can't do this
Or Qantas as a gold .....can't do this
Or SkyTeam as elite plus ...can't do this
Note there are 2 types of PE
One variation on the 777-300 space seats
The other variation 789 and 777-200 have the std PE seat
Ps the one world and star team status i got from status match ...ie i did not have to fly . ...not like the virgin and airnz which i had to fly!

Only ever flown down the back of the plane with them, very good service and only ever had one bad time early morning just off the US coastline and the whole plane went into a nose dive and the whole plane luggage falling out from above just had to hang onto the seat wife, but a few minutes later everything balanced itself out..good luck..

    Saves $2500 against who?
Air NZ is supposed to be very good. Also check out the economy deal where you can get the sky couch Economy Skycouch™ - 777-300 Long-Haul Economy - Long-Haul Experience - Onboard Your Flight - Air New Zealand - Australia Site
To US I'd go biz class though - it is a very long flight - though if you go direct via Syd or Melb (and stop over properly and see projects etc) then you might survive the 14hr flight in Premium Economy.

Looked at Skycouch but the reviews were not that great.
I agree, I think we should be upgrading, the long flight is a killer.

Compared to Virgin Australia and Qantas.

Ahh @Westminster and @MTR youve both gone soft.
I do economy (sing air) Singapore to AMS (13hrs), every month.
I love it when you get to about 5hrs in and your butt is so numb you can't tell if it's still there.
