Anyone ever flown with tools?

    Pulled up once for a set of allen keys in my carry-on. Explained that it was maintenance equipment for my archery gear (they were in my quiver) and after 5 minutes of umming and ahhing they let it through.

    New Ikea product - flat pack box-cutter; assembly required....

    You could smuggle the flat-pack Ikea box-cutter on board in yer carry on, but they'd confiscate yer Allen key for the box-cutter assembly at the security gate. :p

    But it would be missing 2 screws and the holes wouldnt line up, and you would accidently amputate your own leg while trying to force it to fit

    Have to have a special form if in/out of VIC.

    Hand tools only in check in baggage and not carry-on luggage. You might get away with a torch in your carry-on luggage. Also no liquids unless they are normally applied to your body. Been there and tried that one with car wash shampoo, wax etc. Very annoyed having to throw high end stuff in the bin. If you get caught I've heard of people somehow finding a postal service at the airport and posting it back to themselves.
