Not sure if to post the airlines name, but Virgin keeps sending me offers of all different kinds, one is for a Mystery Break where you book the date pay the money and your away, the only requirements i can see from the fine print is that you say where you would like to go,most are for 1-2 days, and from the way i read it all ,they tell you in the later part of the week where you will end up,would not mind WA or SA anywhere is fine, just did not want to end up on the Gold-Coast not that there is anything wrong with the gold coast, just looking to see if anyone has ever treated your wife husband to something special where you just turn up at the airport and hit the blue highway without them knowing?.

Never used it but i think They'll send you where there planes are not full on that day.
Don't think they invest any time/resources into finding you the right holiday place.

    Probably.
Its clever how they come up with these ideas.
People get the excitement of a mystery travel and they get their planes full.

Not an actual mystery plane trip, but plenty of mystery deals through Wotif - not been let down yet!

A few years back we booked one of NYE up in the Blue Mountains for about $100 including breakfast, nice room, nice hotel and could see some fireworks.

Friends in Townsville ended up in Sydney - could've been Cairns or Brisvegas.

Friends in Melbourne ended up at Alice Springs. Trip out to Ayres Rock (it was a while ago) they were very pleased. They did not know where they were going until they got to the airport

I cannot help but think of Kath and Kel who never actually left the airport on their mystery flight expedience. As long as you pack matching ugly jumpers and some tizzy earrings you'll be fine swanning about the airport and sneaking into the flyer lounge for snacks :p:D.

go to airport, get on a plane, do a lap and touchdown!

Many years ago when the kids were small we did a mystery flight. We were told 24hrs prior we were going to Brisbane. Got there, hired a small 4wd convertible and drove up to Sunshine coast. Kids had a ball on the beaches. A really run day out.

Did a mystery hotel a couple of weeks ago. 4 star for only $125 in Melbourne CBD. Was good value.

Same here. They only told us at the airport where we were going. But back then it was a same day round trip, not overnight, so I guess that kind of restricted where they'd send you. Wouldn't have been too pleased to be sent to Perth (from Sydney) if I had to be back the same day!
