I went to Costco the other day & bought a pack of toilet paper. Does that count as prepping?

Given the size of packs of anything at Costco - yes, that's prepping.

In my defence, it's not my choice for shopping, but since daughter is a member & can' t drive herself at the moment, I did indulge myself in a few items.

Did you buy yourself a diamond ring and coffin at the same time? Perhaps the ring might not be seen as prepping tho ;)

Haha, I don't understand why anyone would buy a coffin at Costco, but nothing surprises me these days.

Not a big fan of Costco. There's only really a few products that I'd buy from there, but Bunnings? I love Bunnings.

Ah yes. Bunnings. Formerly just a blokes world but now catering to the more discerning buyer.

Many a time I've gone into Bunnings to buy some timber screws only to come out with a MIG welder (or whatever I see and therefore want) and then having to go back in because I forgotten to get the timber screws.

When younger, @Lil Skater used to plead with her father to take her to Bunnings. It was her favourite store.

    Bunnings aka Men's MYER

Personally avoid Bunnings, go to Costco for fuel and a select few items, hot chicken, their salads if we're having a few people over for lunch/dinner and time poor, the dishwasher tablets, pistachios and Christmas ornaments at Christmas time and handmade cards @$1/ea. I see people buying stupid amounts of stuff they don't need, at pricing no better than woolies

We lived with my grandmother as kids. She was a diligent gardener and user of the shrinking hose. I told her that the hose shrunk when it was left out in the sun.

I swear some people just see the larger sizes & think they must be getting a bargain, but to be honest, there's quite a few products more expensive than the supermarkets, so it's a false economy.

Only if you already had more than one bag of toilet rolls at home. Otherwise it is called discerning consumption. On Wednesday I went into my local Woolies and my favourite coffee pods were on special, so I bought ten cartons. This isn't prepping, we use ten cartons in three weeks.

But you have a perfectly good Aldi nearby. Why travel so far to Costco?

In January, Mr Angel and I bought an old bus that he is painstakingly restoring and will one day become our retirement holiday motorhome. He has made it common knowledge that he has wanted a bus or van since our first date in the1970s, so it is hardly a frivolous impulse purchase. One of our progeny has announced that he is disgusted with us for wasting his inheritance on such a thing. I smugly commented to my in-laws (who think it's a great idea) that he should have responded: "Wow, Mum and Dad just bought a mobile home to escape the coming Apocalypse. We should help them deck it out."

I do that too. Anything that I regularly purchase, if it's on sale, especially for a very reduced price, I buy in bulk.

 It's your money, you do with it what you want, and if there's anything left when you're gone, then he should count himself lucky.

I've told both of mine that I intend to spend the lot, so they need to look after themselves.
