    Bathroom scales lie though :D

How about metrics such as getting stronger, faster, leaner, adding muscle, increase in cardio capacity etc

I like those metrics too. I would add waist measurement to that though. My waist number is too high and I am working to reduce it. Waist is hard to measure accurately but it is an important measure.

    How's this for a fitness test - THE TEST | F45 Playoffs
Seems intense at 45secs on with only 15secs rest for 10 rounds!
Would die hard after that

Search for hurt sent one of their contestants down to the Manly F45's. You would think that 45 seconds couldn't be too strenuous but the bloke gets more and more smashed as the test progresses.

I have most of the equipment to do this at home but I haven't given it a crack yet. I can't do a pull up yet. Still working on that one.

These F45 gyms are popping up everywhere, but don't seem too busy

Sure. Have you seen the fees? That's why they are not busy ;)

I wonder how much just to do the F45 playoffs? They could make it a thing. I would do it if it didn't cost too much.

Good question. They don't have prices on their web site, so I am going on secondhand information like this:-
$19 for ten Functional 45 training classes (total value $300)
$25 for fifteen Functional 45 training classes (total value $450)
$29 for twenty Functional 45 training classes (total value $600)

F45 Training - Ten ($19), Fifteen ($25) or Twenty Classes ($29) at F45 Training, Neutral Bay (Up to $600 Value)

That puts the normal fee at $30 per class. I consider that expensive.

Checking some feedback, it seems the weekly rate is between $55 and $65 per week.

Sometimes one needs to pay and make it hurt a little financially to stay motivated.
I'm paying $100/week for 4 sessions where I train, increasing to $150 for 6 sessions next week, and have only missed a couple of classes in the past 17 weeks, where before I was completely unmotivated to train.
That's the longest unbroken run of training I've done in my whole life.
If the sessions were free, I probably would have quit by now.

This one's nearby, I might pop in for the free week and give it a crack

Apparently you get a 15 sec rest, example workout below

    2 x 45 seconds skipping
    2 x 45 seconds weighted squats
    2 x 45 seconds sprinting
    2 x 45 seconds rowing
    2 x 45 seconds weight swinging
    2 x 45 seconds box jumps
    2 x 45 seconds ladder drills
    2 x 45 seconds mountain climbers
    2 x 45 seconds suspension weight training
    2 x 45 seconds planks
    2 x 45 seconds squat jumps
    2 x 45 seconds weighted lunges
    2 x 45 seconds bicycle crunches
    2 x 45 seconds leg raisers
    2 x 45 seconds weighted body twist

From next week it will be 3 sessions of strength and 3 sessions of stretching/flexibility.
It's done in a small group environment but everybody has their own program and works through the progressions at their own abilities levels.
It really reveals the weaknesses which you may never realise and prevents getting muscle imbalances where the stronger muscles are used to compensate for the weaker muscles which often get neglected with common training methods.

I was curious about this program: TSC Heart of a Champion Training and Nutrition Program
Not curious enough to pay for anything, but the idea of sticking to something like that sounds impressive.

I need to lose approx 33.33% body weight and reduce all measurements. Of course fitness needs an improvement too. Can't do too many fancy measuements - body scan sounds interesting ;) but I have no idea what it is or whether I can get one. :p

To coin a phrase, just do it!
Some people find it hard without the team aspect. Maybe join a touch footy team, or get some mates to join regular exercise.
The brain will make up any reason to get out of it - just keep doing it and worry about excuses later. Once you're at the gym, or on your bike or whatever, the endorphines kick in and you enjoy it, and then will look forward to it. The trick is to not latch on to any little excuse the brain comes up with like - I'll go tomorrow... Consistency is the key. It can be a bit difficult at 1st, but maintaining it is a lot easier.

    88 --> 108 in 2 years (and 91--> 108 in 1)
    6'3"
Don't sleep, eat too much, drink too much coffee, stress too much.
    Motivated, but time poor.
