Any Melbourne defectors out there?

Yeah that's true. Anyway my point still stands; moving interstate is such a huge deal, as is this viruses ability to spread.

But people aren't always rational. I assume most will end up in Brisbane. I mean why would you go from one expensive city to another even more expensive city (Sydney) that's got even more people / congestion. I own a bunch of properties in Brisbane and can only benefit from an exodus of people from Melbourne.

Melb was number 1 for population growth prior to coronavirus.

Why ?

Melb was where it was happening, food capital, vibrant City etc
But now? Will it still have the same appeal? Can it go back to what it was?? With economy in tatters etc

 

Well, that's a strong argument. No family. Probably no house. Yeah I can see it then.

This is a great point, and I'll aslo add the remaining top 300 stocks in there who are mostly headquartered in Syd and Melb. Insiders are making a motza. Look at the recent temple&webster and Zoono director share sales worth $20m+, these guys have come out of nowhere and I bet some of that is going into property. Crazy wealth creation.
