Ampac addressable smoke detectors?

    Anyone in this forum use Ampac addressable smoke detectors in their strata complex?

    - Ampac - World Leader of Innovative Solutions in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems - Intelligent Addressable Detection

    We have some faulty ones that are "triggering" in our complex and astounded at the costs in replacing these.

    eg “Arnlew” quoted $1,716 for replacing 8 detectors at $195 each +10% gst but doesn’t specify if they are replacing the bases as well.

    “All Aussie Fire P/L” quoted $2,059 and is replacing 8 detectors quoting $196 each +10% gst AND replacing all 8 bases at additional $34 + 10% gst as well.

    “Firechex” quoted $2596 and is replacing 8 detectors quoting $260 each +10% gst + $280 labour. The Firechex quote was made “site unseen” as they didn’t come out to the site and are saying may cost even more.

    If you have these in your building and are in Sydney can you PM me with details (or better still reply below so everyone can see) on who you used and how much they cost to replace per unit.

    Seems crazy when you can purchase 10 year standalone devices at Bunnings for $55 each.
