In QLD , if a owner occupied home is earning income it is a candidate for land tax. as decided by OSR. Im not sure how it is calculated , but it there is some pro rata factor applied.

Gockie, have a chat with the guys at Kruger Carpets Kruger Carpets (Harry looked after me) at North Parramatta, and their gun carpet layer was Adam Pitura, make sure you ask for him.

Very cheap, on time and great job (and did multiple units for me..)

Disclaimer: I dont have any association with this business, but the experience and price was above expectations.

Datto, you should have drove up the road to Shoal Bay, there are plenty of rooms there...and there's secure parking for the Commodore... and the pub is close too...

Next time there will be no carpet in an airbnb living area!

I've covered the burnt carpet with a rug. All good.
I also found this really good carpet spot cleaner....
Follow directions and then dab with a white face cloth. Be amazed by the amount of dirt that comes out. It's great. 20170108_234424.jpg

All good now. I know someone who just recently bought up there.

But I'm gonna steer clear of that Salamander Bay Shopping Centre. I recently had a terribly embarrassing moment there.

    You're actually quite fortunate.

There's nothing worse than going into a place which other people have used and finding used condiments lying around.

Look, I think everyone should be aware of a problem with that shopping centre. Actually it's with the toilet in that centre. I think it's a disabled/baby change room type of toilet. About 4m x 5 m in size.

It's high tech. From the outside you press a button and the door automatically opens (like an elevator door). Once inside you press a button on the wall and the door closes.

Please be aware that once you close the door you need to press another button on the wall to LOCK the door. If you don't, you could be sitting on the throne, and some one just presses the "open door button" on the outside and woo hoo enjoy your embarrassing moment lol.

Sure, the instructions on how to close and lock are written on the wall but when you're in a rush to do your business the last thing you want to do is read lines of instructions on a wall.

@datto - I'm sure that no one will remember that you couldn't spin your wheels in the carpark after you'd had a few too many cream buns from the cake shop near the entrance a few doors down from the DADHC office. ;)

I wonder if that could get rid of orange face syndrome.

Sorry Datto, but it seems I was too slow to fix my typo that should have read "Dont tell".

And, whilst I dont want to either diminish the awkwardly embarrassing moment, nor upset any other members of this forum, I fail to believe that whoever pushed that outside button did not "expedite" your experience...

I only recall the toilets and the bottle shop. I think I did in fact spin the wheels in the McDonald's carpark nearby.

I was a lady with three kids. She was quickly trying to cover the kids' eyes lol. I asked her to get me a newspaper or one of those magazines. I think you know the kind lol.

Are you saying you saw a woman with 6 hands?

And were you asking for a Herald or just a Tele? And don't say you were after a Horse & Hound...

Not that there's anything wrong with any of this...

    And in a different direction...
I'm planning to have an Airbnb interstate, i'm comfortable with that idea now, 6 months ago I wouldn't have been but i've been just using cleaners more and more and I find it great.

So now I find i've gotten used to saying "my cleaner" when communicating with businesses and guests.

As in "Could you please contact my cleaner", or "I'll need to organise the cleaner" but I think she needs a better title.

I guess I could/should call her my "property manager"?

If she/he just cleans, I'd stick with cleaner, it clearly shows their area of responsibility.

If they are a 'Property Manager' they may get all sorts of random queries/questions. Is this what you/they want/plan?
