Richmond to bow out in R1 of the finals again.
Hawks and Eagles to make top 4.
Crows to make finals and then disappoint.
GC or GWS to have a maiden finals berth.

    You heard it here first

Good start to the season for the swans .

Collingwood had a good pre season so nice to see swans thrash them :D

Probably the best things about it were the contribution of their three debutants in Papley ( 3 goals ) Mills and Hewitt , as well as the step up by some of their less established players with Jake Lloyd having 35 disposals for one .

I'm glad the swans have blooded these new youngsters. Last year I started to get the feeling that the team didn't have the same never say die attitude. Also felt the 2014 GF loss to the Hawks took a fair bit out of the teams mentally.

Although it's early days , the swap of Jetta for Callum Sinclair is looking good on more than one front .

Sure , Jetta had those moments of brilliance which will long be remembered , but theyt were at times too far and between .

Unimpressive Debut from him for the Eagles , but Callum Sinclair has been one of the Swans best in his first two games , and the small players who have put their hands up for the wing positions , in Cunningham and Lloyd have been much more consistent that Jetta usually is .

One of the ironies of the game Carlton Vs Sydney was that even though Carlton are recognised as going though a Rebuilding phase , the swans had more younger players with low numbers of Games .

Swans push for youth reaps more rewards against Carlton Blues

If someone had told you pregame that the winner of this match at Etihad Stadium would be the side that had invested heaviest in youth, you would have been well within your right to expect a round of upsets had finished with another boilover. If you did, then you're missing the quiet rebuild that is taking place in Sydney.

There will come a time this season when the Swans are challenged. It did not happen at all last week and occurred only briefly on Sunday but there are already signs they are better equipped when it arises this year.

A 10-goal win over Carlton is far from anyone's idea of a litmus test - it's probably expected for a premiership aspirant - but it's not the margin that counts but the manner in which it was achieved.

One of the major questions over the Swans during the preseason was whether they had the depth to return to the pointy end of the ladder.

The stars are still there, many of whom were again highly influential against the Blues, but it's the impressive transition to senior football made by their recruits that is generating most enthusiasm.

At his best Jetta has blinding speed and precision kicking. One of the best to watch in his element. Unfortunately as you pointed out @See Change he was far to inconsistent, especially in 2015. I will always cherish the moment he blitzed Cyril down the boundary line in the 2012 GF.

I've been impressed with Sinclair too. Adds a fair bit as an attacking player too. Mike Pyke was a wholehearted player but had his limitations.

Don't think I can stand to see the Hawks win another premiership

Yes , agree re Hawks . They're going to get the point where they need a change over in their roster awith several of their key players getting old at the same time , but that same potential weakness is the same reason why they have been so strong for the last 3-4 years with so many of their players peaking at the same time . Lewis , Hodge , Mitchell , Gibson , Burgoyne are all getting close to the end of their careers ( though interestingly behind those guys there is a bit of the gap in terms of age ) .

Take out Hodge and Mitchell and you have a different team . though I don't know their young players that well to know if they have ready made replacements coming in .

They have a few youngsters that have now established themselves in the team being Isaac Smith, Puopolo, Rioli, Duryea, Langford, Hill.

Annoyingly I think they have recruited and developed well.

My predictions from the start of the year, with comments in blue. Was mostly correct. My bias for the Eagles let me down :p
