Haha - thank you all for the excellent advice about my cats/dogs or just cats, depending on your perspective :). The cats are actually significantly larger than the dogs.

Rather have your pets than many of the feral kids people breed and let run wild !

I have a huge family home in QLd that is 14 years old. Next time it is vacant you can move in and I just wont bother to replace the old carpets.. Win-win.

Just bumping this old thread in case anyone was curious. The events I anticipated finally came to fruition... we are relocating to Cairns very shortly. The good news is, we found a place straight away through family friends. I suspect we are paying a slight premium, which frankly I do not care about as they do not mind our fluffy friends. I feel extremely fortunate.

Rockhampton is nice this time of year (not really), how about moving there into a nice four bedroom house? Only $250/week and you can keep all the animals you want. Want a pet elephant? Go for it!

That is good, I always wondered from ads on gumtree etc when people sell pets due to moving, not sure how they could do that.
