I get them from ebay. There's always a good supply- at least for the iPad2 tablets I've been buying.

It looks cool- but I would have trouble sticking it on the wall.

I had ordered a Teclast. However I didn't realise until now. Shipping to Australia takes 20-40 business days. Ouch. This is too long to be useful. I'll be stuck with a tablet which I won't need by the time i get it.

I based the previous post on information given to me by tracking the parcel on the website.

    It arrived today.

That's great. I did not know what to respond when I read that they take 20+ days to ship .

From a software developer's point of view, I'd recommend the Nexus range of Android devices. Most manufacturers modify the base OS, which means that it doesn't quite behave in the same way. Samsung's tweaks have caused problems for projects that I've worked on.

Unfortunately the only tablet Google currently sell is the Pixel C, which starts at $699.

If you're having a custom, native app written, then the cost of retargeting it to Android is likely to be significantly more than the cost of a pile of new iPads. In which case stick with Apple.

I bought a Chuwi for someone as a gift.
It's pretty awesome, especially given how much it cost. It's better than mine.

    Thanks Graeme.

I bought a Nexus tablet several years ago. It didn't work out of the box. I was given a replacement. I dropped it 6 inches and it stopped working, not covered by warranty. This is why I'm wary of some of the really low cost options.
