    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction here. We have the opportunity to buy a 2 bedrooms apartment with a lot of space to add another bedroom but we've never deal with strata before so we don't know if this kind of alteration is a problem or if it does not involve them.

    Thanks in advance!

    Yes, you need strata approval.
    And probably also council.

............and an Engineering certificate and the creation of a new by-law making you and subsequent purchasers liable for its maintenance and any other related building faults, forever.

I would suggest talking with the strata manager. And get what they say in writing. You never know.
