Im sure you have all seen the news about adani getting its final approval for the mines and railway also the port expansion , this is going to inject a lot of money into the local economy and jobs are going to be plenty .I'm curious about what you guys think on how this will effect the property values in bowen as it's been going through a hard time of late ?
I have 12acres in bowen and it's pretty quiet.

Main office to be established in Townsville.

FIFO miners to be from either Townsville or Rocky.

What about the construction workers base for the railway and port expansion , I would think bowen being 25 km away would be the ideal choice .

Queensland-first workforce promised for Carmichael mine

    From the article :
    Fast facts:
    • Townsville to be home to regional HQ and remote operations centre
    • Rail and port operations HQ in Bowen
    • Mining services to be based in Mackay
    • Projects to be sourced from Townsville, Charters Towers, Rockhampton, Emerald, Clermont and Moranbah
    • Decision on whether Townsville or Rockhampton will be FIFO hub due 2017

This next article has a good map of the overall project, to give a lot of people ideas on distances. Between the mine sites to the port is around 350-400km. Thats a heck of a lot of rail to lay.

Here's what we know about Adani and the Carmichael mine project

Surely the fifo hub could be a mix between towns. Its a long rail
I would much rather be housed in townsville than rockhampton though. Depends on time of year though as well
If this does go ahead then Bowen will boom , no doubt about that
