    My brothers are considering buying their first investment property in the new year to take advantage of governments offer.

    Where and what would you buy for circa $500k in early 2020?

    Tom is a school teacher in Sydney south west so would like to stay near the area as he likes his 10minute commute to work.

    Jerry works in the CBD and has more flexibility about location.

    Is it going to be an 'investment property' or their principle place of residence (where they live) ?

    PPOR temporarily for main residence exemption and then rent it out.
