We've very recently set up a home cinema with 100 inch screen and have started watching 3D BluRays.

So far we've watched, Man of Steel and 2/3 of The Hobbit movies

Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Do you like 3D or think it's a gimmick that won't last?

Avatar and Everest in 3D, definitely the best way to watch them. Beowulf, Creature from the Black Lagoon (if you can handle it!) and Ghosts of the Abyss are all worthwhile checking out. There's a few Nat Geo doco's filmed in the format too if that's your thing.

My TV is 3D but have rarely use it for that. 3D movies have been around for 50+ years but most people don't have the proper equipment to make it a decent experience. Sounds like you have the proper setup for it, 100" screen is pretty sweet!

I loved Avatar in 3D. Since then, I haven't really been impressed with 3D and have been watching the 2D versions of movies lately. That said, the last Hobbit was really impressive in 3D on the IMAX screen.

Reminds me I need to watch more movies, in 3D too.
    Only been watching Foxtel lately.
Set up a pretty good home cinema last year with an awesome 150" screen and Dolby Atmos sound.
    Good sound is important too.

Do they make porn in HD 3D?

We are similar. Been watching endless hours of Netflix, but not as much on at the moment. BTW, Netflix have some 3D stuff but I just can't get enough bandwidth - need to try in off peak.

Even though our system is what I'd call a budget system, the Yamaha surround cranked & large screen really does do the job - much better than going out to the cinema.

    Yes........or so I've been told ;)

Highly recommend The Walk in 3D... Fantastic experience and even better knowing it's all based on a true story. The gf was literally on the edge of her seat for the last half hour!

Great movie even if watching in he normal way :)
