The first three graphs come from information I extracted directly from the database

The next two from forum software

The the rest up until the list of terms above comes from Google Analytics

The list of terms above comes from Google Webmaster Tools (aka Google Search Console).

Google Analytics (or other web analytics software) and Google Webmaster Tools are two critical pieces of analysis required for any website. I make sure I set up these tools for every single (commercial) website I build.

Just saw that a Google search for missing toddler william tyrell led to a lead for property chat.com. How is this possible?

That is fascinating. I think I might have contributed a bit to HK and China visits when I was there, next week you'll get some Indo logins from me :)

    Kind of.

Partly it's timing - if you get in early enough before lots of other people start publishing pages about that topic, you get the early hits for Google searches and so Google gives you better rankings because people are obviously finding your site relevant.

It's also partly it's the way the topic is discussed and how Google interprets the keywords out of it. We are specifically ranking for the term "william tyrell foster child" while I very much doubt that we would rank in the first 20 pages for just "william tyrell" on its own. It seems that this longer search phrase is not something many other sites have in their content.

Obviously site authority helps too - although we don't have much of that here yet because the site is too new, but we do have some.
