My investment journey started when I was in IT, engaged and we were saving for our first home. Like many, it took us a few years to save that first deposit so we started educating ourselves in the meantime. This led us to decide that buying an investment property would be more effective than buying our own home right away and we finally bought our first investment property during the 2000 Olympics - all the competition was glued to the TV that week!
Over the next few years we bough more properties and eventually did buy our own home as well - just before I was made redundant from the IT career.
In adversary comes opportunity and this gave me the shove needed to start my own mortgage broking business in late 2004. Since then the business has navigated through the GFC, government regulation, APRA regulation, two boom and bust cycles.
I love what I do and I live and breath property investment and finance. I've invested and worked through the good times and the tough times. Best of all I get to work with a lot of interesting people who are investing and get to pass all that on.
I also love to scuba dive (call me if you're looking for a buddy in Melbourne) and to shoot arrows at big round targets.
