    Hi everyone,
    I'm in Bayside Council NSW.
I want to extend the sunroom of my house and convert it to a bedroom. The house is ~100 years old and the sun room was added to my house around 40 years ago. I bought this house 5 years ago.

The problem is I do not know if this sunroom has been approved by council previously.
Is there any way I can check it with council without them asking for a fine (in case the sunroom was built illegally)? And if I check with council, what does the document called? Is it history of planning/development of an existing property?

You could ask the draftsman who will draw and get approval for the new extension to include what is already there and hopefully have it all approved.

I'd suggest there are many, many houses with DIY (or even professionally built) extensions that were not approved.
