    Hi folks,

I have a B&P report with me which says, High moisture recorded on walls from approx 1500 down to ground level from leaking tap/bathroom, waterproofing damaged and leakage into adjacent areas.
High moisture behind tap wear in toilet wall. bathroom in poor condition.

it comes under major defect, just wondering how much of damage it is and what can be the cost to fix this. Appreciate your inputs.
    Thanks

$15,000 Plus. Think of all flooring is removed. And all wall / ceiling linings down to framing, Often wall and floor framing is rotten and is replaced. Plumbing redone IF needed or reposition. New walls, flooring and linings and bath hob if required. Waterproofing. New floor and wall tiling and repaint and fit out showerhob, screens, bath + vanity taps etc. Additional costs for size, lux fittings, asbestos etc

Sounds like shower backs to seperate toilet and water is across that wall so allow for toilet for rework too. That frame is likely gone.

    Depends on work done.
Cheapest will be to leave all plumbing where it is.

This is a useful guide. 12 months old for Moreton Bay.
What determines the cost of a bathroom renovation?

Some of the major reasons why one bathroom might cost $15,000 - $25,000 to renovate while another bathroom renovation might cost $25,000 onwards

Whether you need to undertake structural work or not

The cost of floor tiles, wall tiles, fittings etc - are you going down a high end or budget route?

Additions such as a skylights or new windows

Additions such as new doors / cavity sliders

The size of the bathroom - is it an ensuite or a large family bathroom?

Whether you’re moving plumbing / drainage and fixtures

Whether you’re installing a new bathroom altogether

    Luxury elements like underfloor heating

Revamping your bathroom lighting and how much electrical work you need

Because the above bathroom renovations are generally divided into some rough categories, generally speaking:

A budget renovation costs between $15,000 and $20,000
A standard renovation costs between $20,000 and $30,000
A premium or luxury renovation costs over $30,000 plus

A major influence of the cost of renovating a bathroom comes down to the style of bathroom and the fittings you opt for .
