    Hi all,

This is my first post in this community. Just to give a background, me and my wife have moved to Sydney couple of years back. In 4-5 months time, we are looking to buy our first property (preferbly unit/apartment).

Budget is under 850k and we need a decently sized 3bkr with minimum of 2 bathrooms. Reason for going with unit or apartment is because we don't want mortgage payments of 6-7k per month for next 15-20 years. Too much of a mental and financial burden/lifestyle sacrifice for us.

What will be the best suburb to make an investment in for living purpose? Ideally, there should be a direct bus/train/metro line to CBD for under 45-50 mins. Area should be relatively safe as we will look to have kids in the next 1-2 years.

    Thank you for the help.

welcome to forum and i suggest u start reading few pages back. familiar yourself also with strata rules and regulations.

your current words suggest that you select unit becuase u dont want high mortgage, but yet u want a sound investment. the two dont work together, at least not initially. if u want lifestyle, and no mortgage stress, keep renting and buy investment elsewhere (not recomended personally but an option).

otherwise 3 bedders are hard to come by so just run realestate search and see where u can afford for 850k.

    good luck!

I never mentioned sound investment from the view of captial gains. I know that is not something one can expect in units/apartments and I am fine with that.

I just want a place of my own where i won't have to pay hogh mortgage for 15-20 years. Hence, apartment/unit.
