I don't envy you. I find it a hard slog. I still argue with myself as to whether I am doing the right thing.

In a few years time, provided one of my two remaining brain cells is still working, I'll seek independent advice on the approach to take.

After reading your posts over the years @SatayKing , I think you should get a Licence to give independent advice.

Not a good idea. I was once offered a position as a paraplanner but turned the job down as I told them the firm would have likely gone bankrupt since I probably would have throttled the majority of clients within the first week.

Warren Buffett once said, “Lethargy bordering on sloth remains the cornerstone of our investment style.” Buying cash flow-generating assets with prudent amounts of (or no) debt and owning them for a long-time is the key to long-term wealth building

Inactivity strikes us as intelligent behavior. Neither we nor most business managers would dream of feverishly trading highly profitable subsidiaries because a small move in the Federal Reserve's discount rate was predicted or because some Wall Street pundit had reversed his views on the market.

If I wanted to have 1/3 US, 1/3 global exUS and 1/3 oz, would 2/3 in VGS and 1/3 in VAS do that?

VGS is 72.3% US based so it would mean around 47% in US (66% x 72.3%)

VTS (or IVV), VEU (or IVE) and VAS would be better for this.

Might be tough psychologically to keep buying VEU if VTS is out performing

If you are going after quality buy world quality index instead of ASX quality. You get much better companies. ETFs you can look at are QUAL, QLTY, IQLT to name a few.

    Cheers,

With 300+ ETFs listed on the ASX - and a few solely on Cboe - it is getting quite crowded. Time for some enterprising organisation to do for ETFs what Bell Potter has done for LICs.

And ETFs were supposedly easy. Apparently not.
