We're organising a Kitchen Reno for an IP in the Goodna area. Total re do cabinets / appliances .

We've been happy with Kaboodle ( bunnings ) Cabinetry in the past but haven't had experience with Bunnings sourced Appliances and the reviews aren't inspiring for thier brands like Euro / Bellini etc .

So we're looking at places like Harvey Norman / The good guys / Bing Lee for appliances . Have you found one better to deal with warrenty

Do you have a go to brands for your budget appliances . Happy to pay a bit more if they come with a 5 year warrenty and a good reputation .

    Looking at
    1. Seperate Cooktop
    2. 60 cm oven
    3. Dishwasher
    4. Exhaust fan

    Cheers

    Cliff

Re Dishwasher: I've just had one replaced in the unit I rent (entire complex owned/managed by one company) and they figure Westinghouse balances durability and cost. Cant comment on the other appliances though.

I've found Westinghouse to be pretty good for cooking and dishwashers in IPs. Pretty reliable, not too expensive and available spare parts.

I just asked an oven repair technician this last week. He said on a budget, westinghouse is great, easy to source parts for repair. If you're going for premium, Bosch and Miele.

had an ASKO Oversize, was great when it worked :)

Kept blowing the capacitor, which provides a kick start boost to the machine.

ASKO service peops said that its QLDs dirty power, they dont have similar issues in other states.

Likely true since I have a Karcher HD proper metal pump High pressure washer from 20 years ago and the $ 20 Capacitor would die every 2 years.

A house we bought in 2005 had a 10 yrs old Bosch machine that was replaced in 2020 coz it had got ugly around the rest of the Kitchen reno, never an issue with it, wont be surprised if its still going.

Our office has a 2005 UK built thing called Hotpoint, never missed a beat, bought if off a guy doing UK factory seconds for $ 350, complete with UK Plug, fella was almost an "Arthur Daley".

Longest lived appliance that was used 2 or 3 runs a day in our house was a Siemens Front loader from 1989, needed a main carrier bearing replaced in 2005 ( $ 20 part from a bearing place and 45 mins work) but needed to be pensioned off finally in 2006 when it started zapping people :)

I haven't had any issues with the Bunnings appliances so far.
It is a rental, I don't really give it a second thoughts about putting in top shelf appliance.
I always expect things to break after 3 years and have provision for that.

For rental appliances I tend to go for brands that have 3 year warranties and add additional 2 years which are on site repairs.

I’ve done that for large appliances (fridges).

we've done 2 kitchens from bunnings, and appliances were from bunnings and appliance online. both good so far. exhaust is annoying, depends on kitchen config, but if its house goes to roof, or pull out etc so just make sure it all fits.

btw - bunnings has great deals on their "floor" for ex/damaged stock. we got our dishwasher like that nearly free (100$ or so instead of full price) just becuase of a dent on the side. no delivery though. so another dent was added when i carried it LOL.
