    Hi All,

I just seen this page on social media claiming that they helped this couple pay $260+ k off their mortgage in 2 years.

They didn't say how it was done but I was just curious to hear anyone's opinion on this forum to see if they have done anything like this or heard of anything like this working.

    Here is the link
How This Sydney Couple Cleared $256,000 Off Their Mortgage in Just 2 Years...

Is this a common way of doing it? So it is possible to do.

    They earn 300K pa?

Yes, by earning 300K pa you too can pay off your 260K mortgage in 2 years.

Now, that'll be 10K for that advice thank you.

Probably debt recycling - or they're pushing the envelope and are into capitalising interest.

Criteria seems to be A) high income, B) existing PPOR mortgage.

Don't give cheek Brian. I think I know where you live. I'll be smoking the Bridgestones for the length of your street as a Good Friday special gesture. I just got to finish this mixed grill I'm eating.

The marketing is tricky. I don't like tricky marketing. I see enough of it on this forum ;)

    Let's see.

"Our two investment properties helped us pay $80,000 off our mortgage in one year"

Sounds impressive but it doesn't tell us anything. The key to this claim is finding out how much they would have paid off without 2 rental properties. If the answer us $75k then that is not impressive. If the answer is $5k then that is impressive. Without more information we simply don't know if this is impressive or not. Why do you think the qualifying information wasn't provided? ;)

    It's just positively geared properties.

They say you have to have minimum of $100k combined income between the couple to qualify

That's what I thought unless they are on a very high income.

    It could be 10 NRAS properties - 10 x $10k govt annual incentive + 10 x $10k depreciation bringing tax to $0

The advertisement said it was from 4 properties but implied that the income from the properties helped but was not the only source of the funds used to pay down the loan.

"I paid off a $600k property in four years" - I'm Better Than You Marketing Just don't tell anyone I may have started with $300k of that, which my parents gave me

Anyway, back to earning money the hard way, unless anyone has some rich parents they can lend me

Ah I didn't read it - sorry - was just thinking outside the box.
Maybe the answer is MLM - Isagenix/Tupperware/Amway/
And most likely it's a spruiky nothing - bought in Sydney 3 years ago and road the boom

If they were selling something legit there would be a lot more detail about what they are selling. ;)
