It could be a 'girl - thing' having so much white outside. Maybe stick with the light greige. And some black.

I know it's crazy in this hot country of ours - but I do love Colorbond Ironstone on a roof. I'm with Xenia - work on the street appeal, however, the street appeal would be amazing if your did the Ironstone roof - darkish weatherboards and white trim/window surrounds etc - then plant a semi-formal cottage garden and put in the picket fence .

I wouldn't put painted wrought iron trim - but would go timber rather something more like:

Verandah Decoration | Decorative Timber | Turned Posts | Corner Brackets | Balustrading | Frieze

... which you can buy easily enough from Bunnings and DIY

Any chance of reopening the enclosed veranda at the left - or, at least, replacing the aluminium window?

If for investment, play to the strength of the style of property which appeals to most buyers/renters comfort zone

    Two colours schemes for you
    1. Surfmist roof with Porters Old Stone Wall and Dulux Lexicon half strength trim will get you that second picture you like

    3. Basalt roof with Dulux Whisper white walls, dulux domino front door and windows will get you a grey roof that isn't too dark modernish look. Black front doors and windows sounds weird but looks amazing

Different style of house I know but here's one we did recently.
    House - Dulux Limed White
    Roof - Dulux Woodland Grey
Balustrading / trim - Dulux Vivid White

Thanks for the link. Totally agree with what you're saying colourwise. Would look sensational.
Would love to open up the verandah but will need to put that towards the end of the 'to do' list for now.
The brown aluminium windows are atrocious. Looking forward to when I can have less rooms and more verandah. Once I get a few tradies in for yard and bathroom it might not seem such hard work. :)

Wow they're both great and just the sort of thing I'm heading towards. Porters Old Stone Wall is probably something I would seriously consider. Also the idea of the black trim appeals, is practical, and fashionable atm, isn't it? :)

Nice. Yeah that classic look does well in these parts. Wanted to see what Limed White would look like for real so thanks for that. :)

Dulux or others should be able to colour match the Porters Old Stone Wall.

I wouldn't do the black windows with the Old Stone Wall colour - it goes best with 'white' walls or grey walls

    :)
Interior paint is first on the list and that's my job. Taking forever.
Then the bathroom and a loo to be tiled. Hopefully I can pull that together.
The fireplaces need to be dealt with and the floors need doing (polishing).
Then exterior - along the lines of the photos above. May bet to open verandahs or might have to wait.
The yard needs levelling in some places. Will be biggest cost.
Then I'll probably rent it out for a while. Reckon I could easily live there myself one day.
