Chris Hemsworth (aka Thor) ain't a she. I recall a friend of mine saying she gasped when she saw the guy in the Thor film. Can't say I've ever been able to disassociate the Home and Away character myself.

    Hemsworth buys Byron Bay pad

Sounds like a realestate media watch update; only ever look at inner-city suburbs.

There is more to Melb than these few.

Down near me and @Jeffb for example.

Well, everyone has their own preferences
. For myself, I love going down to mornington for holiday but not necessarily to live in. Not everyone like long daily commute to/from work.

The topic was liveable suburbs...the commute is not part of that criteria.

My suburb of Dromana is fantastic for living; and my commute is 1 min.

It's up to everyone to organise their life to improve their commute.

I really miss the multiculturalism of Sydney - especially foods (yum cha!). As awesome as Newcastle is, it is way too Anglo, and a bit heavy on the bogan.

    My list:
    1. Bar Beach
    2. Cooks Hill
    3. Concord West (We lived around that area for about 10 years or so, really liked most of the Canada Bay council area - haven't lived in many other suburbs down there)
4 & 5.... don't know. Can I go London and somewhere in the French Alps?

    Cheers,
    Inertia

It's my ambition to bring multiculturalism to Newcastle. I would be glad to invest in food business up there. Who's with me? Hehe

When I am independently wealthy, I would be more than happy to invest in a loss-making, lifestyle business. I was thinking bicycle repair shop/cafe/small music venue (thus financing most of my interests - just add travel/touring service), but it may need to expand and include some multiculturalism.

    Cheers,
    Inertia

Mate, I think we have something to work with. Laksa and Chicken Rice/Cafe/Music Scene... not sure about push bikes. :)

    Chatswood (convenience, food)
    Macquarie park (convenience, parks)
    Curl Curl (beach)
Denistone/ West Ryde (more neighbourhood area, leafy road, parks)
    Maybe Bronte?

Not disputing Dromana as a liveable suburb.
But people's preference on inner suburbs over Dromana/your suburbs don't make them realestate media watchers.

And for most people, jobs are in CBD, inner suburbs would mean less commute and more living.

top 5 favourite suburbs that you like and would live in you asked.

I'm confused with what your asking as what you wrote above?
I love dromana and would live there. It's a beautiful place.

Seems pretty obvious to me...suburbs to like AND live in. I might LIKE a suburb, but doesn't mean I would live in it due to criteria not being met (commuting would be an important one for me). Using dromana as an example, I like it as a getaway (folks used to have a holidary house there and small farm in Red Hill) but I wouldn't live there.

    Oh ok I get it.
So we should name places we love to live in, but only if it's close to the CBD so people can get a job there.

Did I say that, nope. In fact I'm retired so jobs don't mean nothing to me. All I said is that liking a suburb does not necessarily mean someone would live in it. But if I did have a job in the CBD or nearby, then yeah that probably would be one of my criteria but not the only one.

The op asked favourite suburbs you like and would live in. Then later brings in jobs and commuting for dromana.
My understanding as I first wrote my list was places I Like and would live in. As I believe most others have written. Regardless of commuting, or jobs, or any other reason. It's personal for each and everyone of us. I guess I'm now slightly confused with what the op is actually asking.

He/she did not bring it up in relation to Dromana, it was in relation to the criticism (probably and hopefully only in jest) of people nominating inner city suburbs as 'real estate media watchers'.
