In Sydney, Centennial Park would be my pick.
At a median of 4.4 mil, it's quite a tightly held suburb.
Alternatively the surrounding suburbs of the park itself from Randwick North to Moore Park to Paddington to Bondi Junction to Queens Park are all great.
Might even think about moving there when my girl goes to High School so she can go to Sydney Girls High at Moore Park.

    1. Eastern suburbs (excl Bondi Beach...way too many tourists)
    2. Chatswood (and surrounds)

Summer Hill, Lilyfield - any nice sounding suburb that's fairly central and still pretty green.

    -Mt Vernon (Capitol Hill Estate)
    -Sans Souci

All great places for different reasons. The south side suburbs have bad traffic problems but assuming I don't have to drive to work then it's fine. Northern suburbs would be my top picks but slightly out of my price range. ;)
Oh and the Mt V choice is because I love a bit of open space and fresh clean air.

I understand St kilda east or west... but saint kilda? Isn't it a bit rough (especially weekend evening on Fitzroy Street?)
