He would say that wouldn't he?

Ever known a CEO to talk down their company's prospects?

Um, I thought it was Owen Hegarty from Oxiana that actually said this, as Marius was probably busy with policing office etiquette that day....

This thread certainly brings home a heightened awareness of risk (that thing that's left over after you think you've thought of everything..).

And, dare i say it, one hopes that Kate and Matt didnt decide to diworsify into the share market by indulging those generous private equity vendors, who could make them Myer and/or Dick Smith shareholders, at a "long term investor" type price.

It's not about the money. People are embarrassed to talk about their failures. Who wants to be a poster child of a financial stuff up? It takes a lot of courage & self love to stand up as a "failure" in a culture that idolizes success.

I'm in the throws of writing a book about it all. This story is bigger than me.

Losing money is one thing ... It's the human cost that's the worst factor...

'allo Kate.welcome to the forum...great to see you on the forum...the last time I saw you ..you were on stage with Dymphna with your partner! Must give it you ...you have cahones...great to see. respect!:D

Spot on! Would love to hear your story...a small preface would be great!

Care to share? Did you manage to trade out and walk away without too much negative consequences - i.e. Bankruptcy? If so would be great story to tell....

Hi Sash, nice to meet you.

Where do you live & what do you do with yourself?

Life sure has a lot of love and wisdom to teach us all ....

You'll hear all about our story in the new year ... Have secured some awesome opportunities to help get It out into the world .... Book will be released in March .

There has been a tonne of speculation on what happened to us, Moranbah, mining etc .... I've been so annoyed over the years about the false stories being thrown around. Can't wait to set the record straight.

If you want to be on the notification list for book launch go to katemoloney.com

    Nice talking to you sash

Will keep a look out for the book.

Are you able to share what actually happened? Or will this be in the book and other media releases? PropertyChat maybe one of the best forums to put it right. :)

As for where I live...I live in Sydney. As for what I do........I have a day job in IT.....but by night I am property specufester..been doing it for 15 years! :D

Hey sash , good for you ! Where do you invest ?

You'll see it all next year. I have to keep quiet till next year. I'm intending on challenging change through my story so others don't have to go through what I did.

Yeah that's the way! Good for you.

Our original strategy was to buy a house pay it off quickly. Our first home in Warrnambool we had it 1/2 paid off the time we were 21 ... Then we got off path

I've learnt in a big way always follow your intuition, people mean well telling you what to do .... But it's your life not theirs

Dan ... You'll have to read the book

There is one group still advertising us as a "good story". .... And I'm thinking... Im a good story in the sense I haven't necked myself, I haven't taken pills to cope, I haven't lost my marriage, I'm still sane (well, I hope so ;-) But in a financial sense, not such a good story ...

I'm so glad your marriage has survived Kate, and you've pulled through it in one piece. I'm looking forward to reading your book.

Stick to your guns ... Always hard to be out the front of the pack ...

It's time for people to get empowered and stop betting their finances on their egos ...
