Elon Musk is set to take us all to Mars.

Might be a good opportunity to go there first, conquer it and put up land for sale :p:D

His presentation on 'Making Humans a Multiplanetary Species' below -

Would you go to Mars with the reduced cost of the trip (~$200K per person one way) ?
Are you willing to give up your life on earth and start a new civilization on Mars ?

Yes without a moments hesitation. Ive always felt I was born about a century too early and will miss out on faster than light travel, space settlement and wormholes. I just have to make do with Peter F Hamilton space opera instead

Besides, whos else is going to do BA work for interplanetary investors? :D

Nope - long way from being finished with all I want to do on Earth.

Besides - Aliens was my fav movie growing up - tends to make one cautious about strange planets

Not me. Other people are really passionate about going and I am not. I would much rather they go and I will really enjoy watching the documentaries.

I'm totally keen for some sort of space travel, but only later in my life so if something does go wrong - well at least I've had a good run.

I imagine it would be so deeply humbling to be out in the expanse of space - looking back out at our little orb.

+1 here. Do note though, there are thoughts that if you are alive in 30 years, you will probably be alive in 1000 years as we exponentially develop life lengthening technology :). I am 100% okay with living for 1000 years :)

I would only consider it (and I use that word loosely) if there was a reliable way of getting back

Depends on whether I can tap the water ice under the dry ice caps... to create the first Martian ski resort!!

Actually nah, I think I'll stay here and ski 'til I'm dead.. :)
