    Yes we would.

    Historically we have looked at Google maps, and also in Brisbane - contour diagrams.

    We bought a house in Sydney a few years ago, which we were willing to purchase on the phone. We were satisfied with it partly based on Google maps, but also due to the zoning, frontage, block size and most importantly it being well located. We had to go for an inspection, as the agent said he had experiences where people had pulled out of deals, and couldn't do the transaction over the phone.

    In NSW, also go through s149 certificate, which may highlight any issues with the land, and check the easement diagram attached to the contract.

    I have before - I got my parents to look at it for me though.

    Yes, have done it for the 3 IPs (and PPOR as it is an OTP). I got people to check them though

    Yes. The house had even burnt down saving me demolition costs.
