All very cruel of you making fun of my near life threatening experience:(.

Quite frankly I’m very cheesed off about the whole experience:p. Verging on criminal as-salt. Oh well I will just have to somehow get past this stomach curdling experience and put it down to an unfortunate case of Brine & Dine:confused:.

    Things are still steadily climbing...

Does anyone have any updates to add? Are we still set to maximum caution?

Do we see the extra bit of $ in Aussie pockets from interest rate and tax cuts pushing things a little higher?

All that extra time in the sun didn’t improve my surfing but gave me cataracts instead:(. So eye surgery scheduled this coming Tuesday and the one after. No tsunami allowed until I can see the Ipad screen again:). So got the Tsunami order in now for the end of July.

    :cool::cool:

Thats no good about the cataracts.
My mum had both her eyes done a number of years ago and it was a huge success.
All the best for the operations.

I was going to hit the 'like' button for this post but it seemed inappropriate for some reason. Then me being me that shouldn't have stopped me. :)

All the best with the surgery.

As for the Tsunami not today Josephine but it will happen. Don't know when but I know nuffin,

Good luck with the surgery. Fingers crossed for do you. Why you say end of July? Is that when your eyesight hopefully recovers? Just wondering if there is some logic behind it.

He he, just being silly as usual.

I’ll need reading glasses for the first time after surgery but it’ll be a number of weeks before the eyes stabilise and an eye test can be performed. However I’ve heard some buy cheap reading glasses and update as the eyes change with healing from the Chemist to get by with until the final prescription is sorted. Hence why I joked about a Tsunami at the end of July.

From this weeks Market Whisperer Newsletter - For a quick, intuitive, and easily understood viewpoint check out the Hurst dominancy envelopes below.....they clearly show why we are so statistically overbought on major indices in general right now.

One of the main reasons I am not expecting a share market crash is that too many are.
I may be wrong this time, but History is on my side.

What I have found interesting is with the major indices at record highs is the reluctance on my part to put money into the market knowing that its so high. It goes against some of the principles of value investing.
I know DCA and the long term approach etc. but it seems Governments are going out of their way to introduce policies to keep the stock markets / economies chugging along.
Example, as soon as a little hiccup starts Trump will tweet to calm the markets.
How long do you wait with cash sitting ready to invest?

This is a weird market. Generally the market needs to reach the “euphoric” stage before a major downturn. However as often quoted worldwide this is the most “hated” bull market ever.

As early stage retirees who fortunately don’t need to access our Sequence of Return Risk cash reserves even if cash rates are zero or worse I’ve no intention of being panicked into chasing yield / better returns elsewhere. Perhaps when being in Cash when yields are such pathetically low that it makes one sick to the stomach then that’s the contrarian view.

But as stated we’re in the early stage of retirement so our decision is a very different one to that of a younger accumulator.

As for the ASX unlike the US despite all the talk about approaching record highs the following ASX 300 chart shows the reality of the situation. On a price basis the ASX is still lower than over 10 yeas ago. So hardly much of a bull market here.

Unfortunately though what happens in the US will impact ASX.

Not an easy decision for many so it comes backs to your strategy / rules. That’s assuming you have one:).
