Trouble is being lumped with the carbon emissions from all this additional exported coal all whilst we are trying to aim for being carbon neutral

Shares in a carbon emissions offsetting company ?
Or at least whomever manages and trades them ;)

Has conceding to the activists caused banks and companies that offloaded coal (such as Rio Tinto) to forgo the profits?

LNG I think will be the future. Lithium and other battery components. We already have the largest (or close to the largest) outside China lithium processing facility in WA. So fingers crossed we are position to monetise on it.

    Green tourism too

In the words of Tim Minchin - if you own a Tesla, you're running a car on coal (unless you're using solar/wind to charge it).

Yes, solar farm galore is coming! Though this likely to benefit NT and SA more. The dry, arid, no cloud, dusty centre.

    Coal industry looks very lucky.

WA Liberal Party promises to shut coal power stations by 2025

And why stop at Australia which is insignificant? Stopping all shipments to China and India is a much more effective way of reducing carbon emissions and changing the planet's temperature....

Shutting coal plants here likely to benefit Australia in longer term. I see it more as rebalancing and repositioning the economy rather than greenhouse reduction. The number of clean energy jobs generated in Germany and Norway is astonishing. And these places barely get sun.
