Fine then! I blame you for me being grumpy tomorrow.

QLD has been the consistently strong topic only recently being overtaken by NSW and only just by VIC.

    Sorry @Simon Hampel & @Kinnon Bell - I couldn't resist. ;)

Do we take the all time stats 'worm' as the leading indicator of investor sentiment or the herd (the survey you have when you don't have a survey, market clock etc)?

I see lots of Qld hype... premature to actual growth.
Whereas Hobart started booming... notice on PC later followed. @C-mac called it early, but it was a fairly low key thread.
When further confirmation that indeed a boom was happening it then got noticed more widely.

No, I only included Australian states in the data.

Including Tasmania. If you squint, you can just see a blue line along the bottom.

And if I exclude posts made by @See Change it just about disappears altogether.

(Actually, I exaggerate ... Seech has only made just over 12% of the posts about Tasmania)

I'm not sure it indicates much of market sentiment really - all it takes is someone to make a few somewhat controversial statements and a thread on any particular area can add 50 posts in a day.

There's always a lot of debate (argument!) about Logan and a lot about Druie more recently pulling the NSW figures higher.

These figures merely show what people are arguing about - not what they believe are the upcoming or current hotspots.

I'd like to do a monthly or quarterly survey of our members to gauge their sentiment on specific areas - I think that would give a far more accurate indicator than trying to infer market trends based on debates in an online forum.

If global warming happens we're home and hosed but if the latest theory about sun spots trumps that they might have a glacier down the Tamar.
