Witness signing a Form 1 transfer document

    I recently sold my IP in Queensland. I live in NSW and need a witness to sign a Form 1 transfer document. A local JP said he can’t sign a Form 1 because the property is in Queensland. Apparently I need a solicitor to witness the signature.
    Has anyone heard of this before?
