Withholding Tax

    Hiya

    I have been working o/s for a few years now and last financial year received a notice from the ATO advising me that I now had to pay withholding tax as I assume that this is because I am classified a non resident for tax purposes.

    I have been working in the Middle East (Bahrain & Qatar) tax free and have one IP in my own name and the others in our HDT.

    Anyway - my question is this.....

    Can anyone please explain to me what this (the withholding) exactly means to me with regards to my current and future taxation liabilities when I eventually come back to Oz to live?
