A storage room about 1.5 x 4 metres is being added to the house against a blank brick wall. It's not habitable, so that part of the code does not apply. However, I'd like to have adequate natural light. This Choosing the right window size sets out window size, fairly straightforward. Consideration is being given to a skylight along the length, up to about a metre wide. This should allow enough light, but windows on the walls would make it much nicer. Tentatively, two windows are planned, 5-600 mm square on the long and short walls. Comments about this would be valued. TIA.

Lighting and ventilation are considerations. The type of roof and height also affects this. With 1.5 x 4 and a door and two windows there isnt much left to play with as its so narrow. Most people would put a loo and a basin in it.

Paul, thanks. Mea culpa - I should have said that the room is for storage of gardening items. Shelves can be put on part of the existing house wall and maybe at the end, leaving room for a mower. The height will be around 2400 mm.
