I'd like to kniow if the upgrade will change Windows to the English version. I bought the PC in Colombia and everything is in Spanish, and it's a single language version.

Oh, that's harsh when software can damage hardware... :) Oh wait, you mean the driver right? Is there an updated driver?

I would consider myself fairly computer literate, and for what it's worth I'm sticking with Windows 7. Wasn't keen on the feedback for Win 8, can't think of anything that would make me upgrade to 10 any time soon.
Operating systems are one area early adopters seem to get screwed.

May be you can go to the scanner manufacturer's web site and download the driver that is windows 10 compatible.

For the time being, I'll update my Windows 8.1 tablet. I'll keep everything else on Windows 7.

Yeah yeah yeah I write lazily, broke doesn't mean the hardware (although the driver apparently is "working properly") .

Kodak hasn't released a new driver yet. The old one is there and thinks it works, but it's wrong. No scan software can detect the scanner. Reinstall doesn't help.

I'll just scan with my mobile app for a while and hope for a new driver. Otherwise it's time for my scanner to go for a journey courtesy of ebay

;) ... in that case, I would switch off the computer, unplug the scanner, boot up and plug the scanner in while the computer is running. See if there are any extra messages and/or check the logs. If that doesn't work, you may need to unplug the scanner, uninstall the driver and then plug the scanner back in to see what happens.

I've sidegraded to a Mac. I still use my Windows PC, sometimes in tandem. The retina display and SSD are superb; there's points of differences and a small learning curve, but they still are remarkably similar.
