About 6 months ago I got the usual card in the letterbox saying your parcel was undelivered and needs to be collected from Aust Post after 4pm. I was surprised as I had been at home and was expecting the delivery. I checked my CCTV recording and saw that the delivery man had pulled up in my driveway, made no attempt to deliver to the front door and went straight to letterbox with card. Aust Post simply made me fill out a complaint form when I queried it.

This has happened to me several times. It's infuriating.

Happens at least once a week to me, or their other trick is to leave signature on delivery items worth decent $ while no one is home, can’t win either way with AusPost or StarTrack they are a bunch of morons, complaint process is useless also

Photo would have been fine but there wasn't one and the status I might add was delivered - nobody home. I was home and I know my doorbell works because we just replaced it with a smart one.

This was a tech package so if it went walkabouts I would have been well p155ed off.

All ended well but even if they leave it and ring the doorbell then walk away, Some alert to let me know that there is a reason for me to go outside would be acceptable.

This is the second time recently. My boss ordered a present for me a few months ago as a thanks for recent above and beyond. A massive box of nutella donuts, snickers, nutella syringes, Maltesers, all sorts of lovely things. We think it would have been delviered on the Thursday..... We found it on Sunday night. Again no alert nothing and we didn't know it was coming as it was a surprise.

Sounds like you need a dog - no delivery sneaks onto my property without the whole neighbourhood knowing ;)

This happens to me too. It saves them 5min per delivery I guess. Pretend no one home and finish earlier.

I often watched what they do when they arrive. If they Ho for the card straight away, I'll wait until they have dropped it in the mailbox then give them a bollocking for not doing their job.

I'm guessing they get paid per delivery attempt - there's no motivation for them to actually attempt to knock at the door.

I have a secure parcel drop letter box. It's very rarely ever used.

Is it with Couriers Please? They would have the be the slowest courier I have ever encountered - I've waited 2 weeks to get something within the Perth metro area before which is just ludicrous.

No, some jokers called “XL Express” - express they are not! I’ve asked the company for a refund, I’ll go buy a cot on the weekend in a shop. Ordering on 2 November and still not having it is ridiculous. They’re still insisting they haven’t lost any of it (there are three separate boxes and they have two of them) but it’s pretty obvious they have.

The courier industry just like any transport industry is full of crooks from the top down. Try working for them and you'll understand why most delivery drivers will take any short cut they can. Most runs are crap, you're overworked and underpaid. I've worked for a few of them but never again.

Or you can modify the front seat to accommodate any "urgent delivery" lol. It will save time and deter thieves. I could market this concept for courier drivers.....crap seat.

They would have only verified that the licence address matches the delivery address, your good looks are not a concern :D

I was actually picking up on behalf of somebody else, at a different address. There was a standing authorisation for me to pick up the parcel - they didn't have that with them to check the signature.

As to good looks - I look much better with a mask.

Makes you wonder doesn't it !

I have had parcels posted to ME at a different address to what is on my license, and at pick up they have refused to hand over, my (obscure) name matches that on the parcel but not the address

My partner ordered something from Jaycar and because it's near my office, he wanted me to pick it up for him. According to the documents you were supposed to show evidence of the order, so I printed it off. When I went in, I said I had an order to collect. They asked what name, and I said it, then they went to get it for me.
The staff member didn't ask to see proof of the order or my ID or anything.
