Hey PCers, it's me again - a novice shares investor :)

    A quick question please.
    1. Say if I have hold on to a stock for a long time (more than 12 months)
    2. And then I sold the stock which will settle T+2 days i.e. 09 Mar
    3. The company is also expecting to pay a dividend soon with Ex-Dividend date of 09 Mar.

In the scenario above, will I still be eligible for the div payout? Sell settlement date = Ex-dividend date.

    Thanks Heaps!

When did you sell the stock? Not when it settled.

I've checked the ex-dividend date of course :)
The only thing I was not sure initially was the sold or settlement date should be later than the ex-div.

The company is also expecting to pay a dividend soon with Ex-Dividend date of 09 Mar.

Ok if it's the x div then record date is 2 days later, then payment 4-6 weeks later so you may have sold early..imho..

Don't worry too much. The dividend should have theoretically been priced into the share when you sold it.
