    I think @austing just created a story board for an award winning movie. Move over Wolf of Wall Street.

    @standtall, you talked a lot about Warren Buffet and many people would consider him as G.O.D in investment industry.

    Instead of learning/wasted your 2 months of studying, why didn't you just go and invest with Buffet himself e.g. buying the BRK.A stock?

    If you'd like to invest seriously, you should probably use the similar principle in property and shares. Assume you hold both property and shares for 10 years cycle, here is what I get from Google Finance on BRK.A:
    1 June, 1990 (0 years) - $7,100
    1 June, 2000 (10 years) - $59,800
    1 June, 2010 (20 years) - $104,950
    Today (not yet 30 years) -> $250,419.00

    The price above is only for 1 slice of the BRK.A.
    You can do your own calculation if you own 10, 100, 1000 slices.

    BRK.B (baby Berks) at US$166.95 per share may be a better option. BRK.A at US$215,419 for a single share might not be a realistic option for many investors:eek:.

    I'm not gonna comment on their performance. But BRK.A mainly focuses on longer term investments compare to BRK.B.

    Oh this is not an advice, just a general opinion only!

    Do some more research on Berkshire. B shares are 1/1500th of A class shares and carry less voting rights, as you would expect. There is only one Berkshire vehicle.

    What you wrote is complete nonsense.

    Its only after spending two months, I learnt about him and his investing.

    Note that 2 months might across as a very short period of time and my conclusion a hasty one but I wasn't intending to become a professional investor nor plan to spend years perfecting an investing strategy which I planned on using as a mean of passive investing. I saw it as an alternative to property investing which it isn't.

    Same as my "shares" mate saying, I never want to invest in property again (after purchasing properties in mining towns). LOL.
