I think we might just be in for a few good years, few bumps along the way. Company profits globally are massive.and governments and reserve banks are going to keep pumping at the first sign of any trouble. Until they can't any more... Can road kicking etc. Could be 3 years or 30 years away - who knows

Traded prices are bit more sensible today, still a premium to July 31st nta but moderated since the ~20% premium last week

That would truly be a miracle if that occurred as (a) I've never been to any shareholder meeting and (b) watched one.

Staid, boring and does nothing of any note.

    "does nothing of any note"

I take that back. At least it now uses colour in the monthly NTA announcements.

The management has suddenly realised they have overreached, upset many shareholders and have sensibly reverted to a more staid NTA announcements more fitting with the nature of the LIC.

Whatever MIR management are doing it seems to be be working pretty well for me at least so I'm happy to leave them to it.

More interestingly for me though, your post about the lack of colour in the monthly annoucement reminded me of one of the kids favourite books when they were young(er) - "The day the crayons quit"

MIR was raised in this link.

Listed Investment Companies (LICs) 2022 [LIC & LIT]

In that thread I posted some bottom line percentages of the superannuation fund and went back and had a look at the various holdings. Certainly some utter disasters which I am too embarrassed to post.

However, in regard to MIR, the accounting gain/loss were as follows. Average cost per share was increasing by the way due to more purchases. Had a laugh at my own expense when I looked.

    2010 (10%)
    2011 4%
    2012 1%
    2013 31%
    2014 49%
    2015 43%
    2016 48%
    2017 44%
    2018 42%
    2019 18%
    2020 13%
    2021 72%

Of course, I could claim the above was due to my brilliance. Sadly, I really suck at investment selection so it down to pure, dumb luck and placing funds as I don't know any better.

This year it will now perform ....... I haven't the foggiest idea what it will do.

    MIR reported.

3.5c ff. All from LIC capital gain. Payable on 17 Feb.

Not a clue what Baptor, Dettera Royalties do. I assume The Environmental Group has something to do with the environment. Shrug of shoulders. Whatever.

Bapcor operate various autopart stores (similar to Supercheap Auto)

I love me a good LIC capital gains discount.

Ta. I actually don't know what many of the companies in its holdings do. I don't need to really.

As long as the managers know and do their job (occasional goofs permitted), I'm fine with it.
